NAME: Dean Mills
SURNAMES: COOK, LISBY, MARTIN
I am trying to prove that James Lee Martin bn 1844 TN is the son of George Martin bn 1819 TN. George is listed in the 1850 census for Reynolds County and he has a James age 12 and a James W. age 5 (the right age). On this census though there are 4 children listed as 5 years old and James W. is listed under a 27 year old Letitia. I believe James W. may be one of Letitia's sons and George had a sister named Letitia though I had her as 5 years younger than the census. Does anyone have access to the 1860 census. I would think that my James Lee would be 16 and his potential father George as 42. George's wife was Elizabeth Lisby. James Lee married in 1866 in Jefferson County where he died in 1888 but no listing for the 1870 census there. Is there a listing for James Lee in Reynolds County for 1870? James Lee's wife was Mary Amana Cook. I wonder what kind of tragedy occurred for 4 children age 5 to be living in the same home.
Thanks for any help.

SURNAMES: WILSON
Basil Wilson in 1860 census for Reynolds County with wife Lucinda, 30, and children Eliza, 13 (my great great grandmother who married John Goodpasture in 1870s); Lysander, 11, William 10, Frank 7, Jefferson 6, Charles 5, and John 1. Have info that Basil was born 18 July 1822 in Madison County, Mo. and I found marriage certificate on 1989 visit to that county that Basil married Lucinda Vance there on 23 March 1843. In Reynolds county in 1989, I found tax records, visited wilson farm and found copy of his will with second wife named as executor. What I didn't find was the grave of Basil and his second wife. Dobbins cemetery southeast of Lesterville is very close to Wilson farm. In 1989 I couldn't open the cemetery gate entwined with vines and in 1999 I couldn't get past the barbed wire surrounding the farm where Dobbins cemetery is adjacent too. A fork of the Black River is on other side of cemetery. I would like to know if anyone knows for sure where Basil is buried and how to get access to the cemetery?

SURNAMES: BATEY, FARRIS, RAYFIELD
I am looking for information on Laura K. Farris's burial site and where was she born? She was Benjamin Franklin Rayfield's first wife. they lived in Reynolds Co. Is my information on her birth date 24 Oct. 1854, Mo. and death date 17 Feb. 1884 correct? I am also looking for the where abouts of Ada Rayfield's first husband Rufus Batey. One story is that a tree fell on him and the other was that Ada divorced him. After Ada moved to Washington there seems to be no sign of Rufus. So I am assuming that he did die and if so, when and where might he be buried.

SURNAMES: ADAMS, MATHEWS, MATHIS, MATHES, CARTY, CLEMENTS
I am researching the ADAMS, CARTY and MATHES (MATHEWS, MATHIS) lines, in Reynolds County, specifically around the Oats and Black areas, in Black River Township. John MATHES married Rachel BLACK before 1870. John died before 1886. They had three children: J. R. Mathis (b. 1866-76); Emma E. MATHIS (b. June 08, 1871, d. May 24, 1942) married James Henry HELMS of Dent, later Washington County (1868-1938); and Anna Mae MATHIS (b. July 27, 1881 in Black, MO., d. August 26, 1957, ILL.) married George Wilson Gilliam in Washington County, MO. John MATHES is the son of David MATHES and Elizabeth ALLEN (1798-aft. 1850) and siblings were William and Louisa MATHES. Rachel BLACK was actually born in 1846 near Black, Missouri as the daughter of George and Charlotte (CARTY) ADAMS. Charlotte was the daughter of Moses CARTY. After George, Charlotte and a child died of small pox in 1862, the rest of the children (Rachel included) were all parcelled out to neighbors. Rachel was raised by George and Marian (CLEMENTS) BLACK, who lived next door, and she became known as Rachel BLACK. Bill Baker
