NAME: Shirley Jackson
SURNAMES: CHITWOOD,JACKSON

I am interested in finding persons with the surnames of "JACKSON" & "CHITWOOD". These persons would be related to Thomas Merritt JACKSON Born 11/05/1878-Died 01/08/1964 and married Eliza Jane CHITWOOD Born 05/25/1878-Died 05/12/1950. Am especially interested in Jacksons and Chitwoods in earlier generations to these two people. My husband believes that his family was in Ellington as early as 1820, but may have been earlier. Thanks to all who may work on this request for us!

SURNAMES: CARPENTER, DAVIS

I would like any information on James Y. CARPENTER listed in the 1850 Reynolds Co. Census with Ellen 31, Cornelius 13, Mary C. 11, James C. 3, Edward MAHOUNDRO 8, and Ruth DAVIS 18. I'm particulary interested in Ruth DAVIS (my gggrandmother). I believe Davis was her married name at this time and that she may have been the daughter of James Y. Carpenter. She had children Julia, Elizabeth, and Jeffre by first marriage and married a second time to Mathew McDade in Marshfield, Webster Co., in 1861. Thanks for any help.

NAME: Bill Sutton
SURNAMES: SUTTON/ELLINGTON

My Sutton lineage is John Sutton, Sr/John Sutton, Jr/James Sutton/Josiah Sutton/ James Elvis Sutton: John William (Bill) Sutton. Other related families include Elvis Harrison/Jesse Richardson Pratt/Gatewood. One specific interest is in travel of James Ellington to California in his second trip, on which he was killed. Oral family history from my father is that James Sutton made similar or same trip to California and was also killed there. I am interested in any specific facts about James Ellington's trip--dates, route, destination, etc. These trips were during the period of 1850-1860. Any help would be appreciated.
